DAY 1 Arrive in Cape Town with the rest of the day free to explore or chill on the beach.
DAY 2 Cape Town to Simons Town – 58 miles
Following the coast we head around the peninsula with a chance to take in the Cape of good hope. There are a few climbs to warm up the legs with and spectacular views to inspire the soul
Day 3 Simons Town to Bettys Bay – 57 miles
Riding east now the route takes us around False bay where the Indian ocean starts to influence the warm the waters. Time for a swim.
Day 4 Bettys Bay to De Kelders – 58 miles
A small detour inland to cross an estuary taking in some beautiful old colonial towns with plenty of opportunity to sample the local hospitality and produce but with the Rand where it is you may need some panniers. then back to the coast for the night.
Day 5 De Kelders to Bredasdorp – 55 miles
Heading inland the route passes through fertile valleys with national park and farmland on display a day of undulating roads with lots to ponder
Day 6 Bredasdorp to Swellendam – 45 miles
A shorter day trough the hinterland on deserted roads with a feeling of isolation abounding until we arrive in the market town of Swellendam
Day 7 Swellendam to Riversdale – 53 miles
A day of rolling countryside with Ostriches and Zebra for company before a stay in the delightful town of Riversdale.
Day 8 Riversdale to Mossel Bay – 56 miles
Heading back to the coast the route continue across rivers and through farmland with mountains on view in the distance and enormous skies.
Day 9 Mossel Bay to Knysa – 66 miles
A slightly longer ride to take us in to a well deserved rest day taking in some great coastal and inland roads with the gem that is Knysa to welcome you at the end of the day
Day 10 Rest Day . A chance to unwind in this Beautiful place on the banks of the Knysa estuary you may want to explore on your bike or in a Kayak or a motor boat or maybe just sit back and enjoy the vibe
Day 11 Knysa to Storms River – 63 miles
Tear yourself away from paradise and turn the pedals again for a day with a couple of challenging climbs through river passes, which can be avoided by staying on the main road if you fancy a flatter and shorter day
Day 12 Storms River to Jeffreys Bay – 61 miles
By now you will think that 61 miles is a breeze with mountains in the distance the route skirts the coast through national parkland and cattle ranches into the quaintly named Jeffreys Bay.
Day 13 Jeffreys Bay to Port Elizabeth – 65 miles
A day to reflect on this trip of a lifetime and to talk of coming back to explore further what this magical place has to offer. Oh and the small matter of 65 miles around the coast to arrive at Port Elizabeth
