Maison Tranquil is a magical retreat set in 3.5 acres of private grounds in the South of France near Carcassonne. With large communal spaces, sunny terraces with lake views and a private pool it is a haven of tranquillity.
There are 7 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a large open plan kitchen leading onto the terrace and a huge 4m oak dining table comfortably seating 18 guests. The hosts cater specifically to families with an indoor playroom and outdoor play area and all the accessories to make travelling with little ones enjoyable.
Maison Tranquil is available as a gite for large family and friends on holiday, or to stay at on a room only basis on one of our structured week retreats. The owners regularly host yoga retreats and de-tox retreats, as well as cycling and painting holidays for groups.
Various catering options are available depending on guest requirements, as well as a relaxing massage after a day in the saddle; Andrea is a qualified masseuse and aromatherapist.
In the heart of the Razes region of the Languedoc-Roussillon, Maison Tranquil is surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. There are cycle routes right from the door to suite all levels and requirements from cruising the wine domains to peddling in the tracks of the Tour de France.

Several mountain bikes are available for guest use at the house. There is also a local company with reasonable rates that have a great range of bikes and accessories available for rent by the day/week, from carbon road bikes to tandem cruisers with child buggies. They also deliver and collect from the house. The hosts will provide secure lockable storage and maintenance shed for guests that bring/ship their own bikes.
Cycling in this region is a breeze; there are numerous established VTT routes in the area. Equally from the door there are numerous routes for every level of rider on any given terrain. Information on routes is available at the house, and the hosts are happy to accommodate specific needs and even provide transport to or from the Pyrenees if pick up after an arduous climb is required!
