La Maison Rouge, the self-built family home of hosts Rosanne and Peter, is situated on a quiet lane adjacent to La Seigneurie woodland, open fields and a short walk to Port du Moulin beach. There is a restaurant serving lunches and evening meals in La Seigneurie Gardens. In winter evening meals are available at La Maison Rouge on request using local produce whenever we can.
The B&B wing with its own entrance provides one south-facing super king size double/ twin en-suite bedroom with large arch-top windows and one single/twin bedroom with own bathroom. Rooms have free wifi, local interest books and magazines, tea and coffee-making facilities and hair dryers. A washing machine is also available on request.
Rosanne is a Sarkee, from one of the island’s oldest families and Sark has been the subject of her paintings and drawings for over thirty years. She graduated with a Masters Degree in natural history illustration from the Royal College of Art in 1997 and then returned to Sark to live and work. Rosie believes that breakfast is the best meal of the day and serves as much local produce as she can in season including eggs from the families’ hens, mackerel caught by her dad Peter, Sark butter and Rosie’s homemade bread and homemade marmalade and tomato sauce. Rosie runs watercolour painting classes and can also arrange shore fishing trips, kayaking or boat trips around the Island. Peter is a singer-songwriter and owner of Sark Music Records recording studio (set in peaceful woodland in the grounds of the house) which guests can arrange to use during their stay with us. There is also a live recording facility in the main house.
Bed and breakfast prices range from £60-£70 per person per night.
Evening meals are available on request and we provide fresh Sark fish and shellfish, meat and Sark dairy produce. A three course home-cooked meal will be around £20.
