La Chatouillette Coach House Gite and Private Carp Lake
La Chatouillette (pronounced La-shaa-twee-et) is a Trip Advisor and Flip Key Five Star ‘excellent’ award winner. It is situated in an ideal location for ‘two-wheeled holidays’ and is a perfect venue for the fixed base cyclist. There are accessible and varied green routes in this area that are suitable for all ages and cycling abilities.
La Chatouillette is only a mile from what is claimed to be the oldest working Roman Bridge in Europe. This small but historical landmark designates the area where the French resistance gathered before walking to Paris along the route once used by Pilgrims on their way to Mont Saint Michel.
The path is accessible to hikers, cyclists and horse-riders. The base offers many options for interesting day ride choices. The nearby and popular La Veloscenie, once a railway track that is now a converted safe route for walkers and cyclists, passes through Barenton, Mortain, Saint Hilaire-du-Harcoué, Sourdeval, Domfront and Ducey.
This is perfect terrain for safe and relaxed cycling.
The Coach House Gite and Private Carp Lake are set in 7.5 acres of natural gardens bordered by a gurgling trout river. Meadows and forests in the Southern Regional Natural Park of the Manche Department Normandy surround the property.
La Chatouillette is located on the intersection of the D36 and the D134 between the towns of Ger and Barenton. Coordinates: N 48” 38’ 35 – W 000” 47’ 38.5
‘Next door Normandy’ and the ‘French lifestyle’ are closer than you think and La Chatouillette is only 1.20 hrs from the Caen Ferry Port or 4.5 hrs from the Tunnel at Calais! Our central location to the Manche, Orne and Calvados Departments provides our guests with the advantage of visiting towns and tourist attractions normally considered to be ‘a bit further afield’.
