New for 2010 this is a lovely ride along the Loire Valley,passing many of the regions outstanding chateaux, with plenty of time to stop and explore. It is a fascinating trip through one of the most impressive areas of France, and generally offers fairly easy riding and so is ideal for those who are quite new to cycling.

The holiday starts at Nantes and from here the route takes you along the banks of the Loire River, and through the attractive little town of Champtoceaux, then turns inland to visit the chateau at Brissac. Rejoining the river you continue past Troglodytes caves carved into the cliffs overlooking the river on the way to the busy town of Samaur (and another chateau), then through the vineyards to the Abbey at Fontevraud, then on to the chateau at Chinon.

The next few days takes you past the finest chateaux in the Loire Valley; Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceaux, Amboise and Cheverny before reaching the most impressive of them all, the magnificent Chambord.

From here you continue along the banks of the Loire, through the attractive little town of Beaugency, before reaching the busy city of Orleans, from where you return to the UK the following day.

This holiday uses small family run hotels and there are no rest days.
